Within this specialization we indicate legal systems (own or foreign country) relevant for the legal assessment of a specific situation in the field of civil law, family law and labour law. The norms of private international law resolve conflicts in relation to the links between the factual situation and the legal systems of various countries – hence their name – the conflict-of-law norms.

In a broad sense, private international law also includes substantive norms of law (international and internal) concerning the so-called situation with a foreign element, a foreign person.
